Commercial Truck Part
Helpful guide and resources for purchasing your next Heavy Duty Truck Part

If you are in the market to replace a commercial truck part, there are many things to keep in mind. If you haven't already, please read Three things to look for when purchasing your Heavy Duty Truck Part. Before you make a final decision on where to purchase, make sure to keep the following in mind:

1.) It is not always more economical to purchase through your chassis dealer.

And

2.) It is not always more economical to purchase through your engine dealer.

If this does not make sense to you, do not feel bad because it makes no sense. However, it is true and here is an example:

Lets say that the next commercial truck part you need is a water pump for a Cummins engine in a Kenworth truck. After pricing the heavy duty truck part from 3 sources, here are the results (hypothetical)for your pump:

Cummins Distributer = $100.00Kenworth Dealer = $110.00International Dealer = $95.00

Although it seems like you should get the best price direct from Cummins, this is often not the case. Cummins must sell that same part to both the truck OEM dealers and expect those dealers to sell to the customer for a profit.
